The following is an example of a personalized skin care recommendations routine that I put together upon being asked by my mother-in-law. I love skin care and helping out other people who don’t have the time to learn all of its ins-and-outs like I do. At the bottom are a few bonus items that she asked me about. If anyone is interested in getting personalized recommendations based on your skin type and concerns, let me know via the Contact Us page!
Skin Care
Dermal Korean Collagen Sheet Masks
To completely kick-start your skin makeover, use one sheet mask each evening for at least 20 minutes before bed for seven (7) days in a row. For best results, order the sheet masks so that each one gives a different benefit per evening – for example, Day 1: Brightening, Day 2: Purifying, Day 3: Revitalizing, Day 4: Soothing, and so on. After your skin overhaul, do a sheet mask anywhere from 2-5 times per week. Sheet masks can get a little pricey, but I found some great ones on Amazon for less than $0.50 per mask. I like them so much that I am already on my second pack!
Skinfood Egg White Pore Foam Cleanser
Use this cleanser morning and evening as a cleanser. Egg whites are like tightening little purifiers for your face, and this gentle cleanser uses them to lift the dirt and oil from your pores, then slowly decrease the size of those pores to prevent extra sebum generation in the future.
Burt’s Bees Eye Cream for Sensitive Skin
Use this gentle hydrating eye cream to reduce dark circles and fine lines. Pat using your weakest finger (typically the ring finger) from the outside corner of your eye to the inner, and lightly around your orbital bone to the top of the eyelid. This should be done morning and evening; eye creams are formulated differently than normal moisturizers since the skin there is more fragile, so ensure you’re using the right product.
Milky Piggy Aqua Rising Argan Rising Gelato Steam Cream
The last step in a skin care routine – I call this moisturizer “marshmallow cream” because of how thick and bouncy it is. It feels like you are putting on another layer of skin and can help fill in fine lines and wrinkles.
Freeman’s Avocado and Oatmeal Clay Mask
Apply a thick layer of this to your face and jawline, even down the neck if desired. Allow to completely dry, then rinse and follow with a sheet mask. This can be done once a week. I’ve used this for years and swear by it because it’s a face lift in a tube, and tightens your pores. It’s amazing.
Miscellaneous Recommendations
Shade Shifter Multichrome Nail Polish
Add this gorgeous polish on top of your normal nail polish and watch it change colors from green, gold, blue, purple, and pink depending on the light. It is a fun, gorgeous nail color, and it really works well on top of a deep blue like this one.
Zinus Night Therapy MyGel 13″ Mattress
I will only sleep on memory foam mattresses and swear by them. They conform to your body almost perfectly while s till offering support, making them amazing for helping with and preventing back pain. Many people think they’re not affordable, but this isn’t the case at all. Memory foam mattresses don’t need box springs and you can get a good brand in just about any size typically for less than $500. I recommend the 13″ mattress from Zinus, currently on sale for about $330; I’ve had two, a queen and a king when we moved into our new home, and they hold up wonderfully, as well as having the best blend of gel and comfort foam that I’ve seen so far. A good frame, if a new one is desired, is the Zinus collapsible frame for about $70; I used the queen size of this with my mattress and it gives the right amount of height with lots of storage underneath.
HTC (“Ocean”) U11
Need a top of the line new phone? Try the HTC U11, released in June 2017. It’s programmable with squeeze functionality and has the best rated camera in any smartphone. It’s fast, works with Straight Talk (just put your sim card in), and its battery lasts over a day even with heavy use. To fully take advantage of the squeeze functionality, make sure you choose a protective case that isn’t hard, like the Spigen Liquid Crystal case, and a good screen protector that works with its curved edges, like the ArmorSuit MilitaryShield, which also self-heals.
